CAIRS!

Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments (CAIRS)!

-CAIRS utilizes allogenic donor stroma to act as a spacer agent in ectatic keratoconic corneas, improving visual and topographic parameters while avoiding risks associated with the implantation of synthetic intrastromal ring segments.

-It provides a more regularized topography similar to that of synthetic ICRS

-The low volume of pure stromal transfer and the possibility of more rapid repopulation of the CAIRS by host keratocytes from the enclosing host stroma on all sides may contribute to a reduced risk of rejection.

-Non-rigid, soft, and pliable in nature.

-Average depth of implantation: 314.4 ± 61 μm
